Ohio Valley Home Health is fortunate to have a Skilled Nursing Care team that shares our founding vision for care that allows every patient to live independently at home while receiving all of the care and support they need to thrive and live life to the fullest.  Each member of our team combines professionalism and passion in the service of that shared vision, every day.

Shawn Kost
CEO

Shawn is responsible for the overall daily operations of Ohio Valley Home Health.  A New Albany native, he has a BS in Business Administration from Indiana University and more than fifteen years of management experience.  He has served on the Board of Ohio Valley Home Health for fifteen years as well.  As the son of the company’s founder and husband of president Dawn Kost for 26 years, Shawn has a deep commitment to the ongoing success and stability of Ohio Valley Home Health.

As President of Ohio Valley Home Health, Dawn is responsible for a wide range of duties including all Human Resources functions, Benefits Administration and management of all new hires.  A New Albany native with over twenty years of experience in the healthcare field, Dawn is passionate about preserving the Ohio Valley vision of home health care that honors the dignity of every person we serve.

Stephanie Lang, RN
Administrator

Stephanie oversees all company operations including client care, billing, staffing and compliance for Ohio Valley Home Health. She loves organizing and directing daily ongoing functions and providing support for our team. She began her nursing career as an LPN in 2004, and became an RN in 2007. Her experience includes home health, behavioral health, medical/surgical, long term care and special needs care. A southern Indiana native who is married with three children, she attends Northside Christian Church. She is actively involved in the Special Olympics and volunteers in athletics and band programs at Floyd Central High School.

Meghan Carroll, RN
Director of Nursing

As Director of Nursing, Meghan handles all referrals and oversees all nursing and home health aide patients upon admission. She oversees all field staff, ensures compliance, coordinates care for all patients and maintains communication with family, staff, caregivers, and physicians. Meghan became a registered nurse in 2009. Her experience includes TCU, pediatrics, rehabilitation, behavioral health, and home health. She also did a travel nursing assignment at a pediatric hospital in Omaha, NE. Meghan chose nursing as a career because she’s always loved helping and taking care of other. Making even a small difference in a patient’s or family’s life is most rewarding for her. Meghan is from Jeffersonville, is married with one daughter and is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jeffersonville.  She loves spending her spare time with her family.

Kerry Odle, RN
Assistant Director of Nursing

As Assistant Director of Nursing, Kerry manages nursing schedules, provides direct client care, oversees field staff, maintains communication with families, caregivers, and Physicians, and monitors infection control and Covid-19 tracing. She leads CPR training, and supervises client care while providing education to our CNA’s and HHA’s and providing orientation training to new hires. Kerry monitors quality assurance and furnishes monthly and quarterly QA reports. Assist with HR for compliance and testing needs. She began her nursing career as a certified CNA in 1985, then became a certified QMA in 1986. Pursuing her RN BSN in 1995, she became a certified basic EMT in 1996. She has experience in Long Term Care, Medical/Surgical nursing, Geri-Psych nursing, Hospice and Home Health. Kerry has volunteered as an EMT for over 10 years. She is an accomplished nurse with proven ability to adapt to change and provide a positive work environment. She is a collaborative leader able to complete tasks and achieve goals. Always grateful that she can make a difference in the lives we serve, Kerry trained to be a nurse because she enjoys helping others.  Two of Kerry’s greatest accomplishments in her nursing career were helping fulfill the last wishes of 2 terminal clients. She helped one with baking Easter cookies with their family and the other was able to take a helicopter ride. Kerry relocated to this area 6 years ago.  She has 2 children and 4 grandchildren, and is a board member of the Georgetown Optimist Club.  

Sandy Lewis-Townsend, RN
Clinical Manager

As Clinical Manager for Ohio Valley Home Health, Sandy is responsible for planning, coordinating, managing and evaluating the activities of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that every patient receives the highest level of care and attention.  She earned her RN degree in 1994, and her clinical experience includes medical/surgical, orthopedics, post-coronary, utilization review, behavioral health, quality assurance, chronic disease management and home healthcare.  Sandy is passionate about caring for the whole person, ensuring each patient’s biological, social, psychological and spiritual well-being.  She also loves nature, traveling, art and social causes.

Malinda R. Kost, RN
Founder

As a nurse and the founder of Ohio Valley Home Health, it was Malinda who had the original vision for an organization that would allow people in southern Indiana to remain in their homes leading a healthy, safe and independent life with dignity.  Her passion for that vision continues to inform every decision and motivate our team every day to provide the highest possible level of care and professionalism.  Malinda derives great satisfaction from seeing the company she founded flourish in the hands of the next generation of leadership.
